Radiance for the region — Fuchsstadt solar park as a lighthouse project for community energy
With the Fuchsstadt solar park, we have implemented a real lighthouse project for sustainable energy and active citizen participation. From the initial presentation to the municipal council in November 2020 until it was put into operation, the project has been developed in close partnership with the municipality of Fuchsstadt and local land owners — a prime example of how the energy transition can be shaped together at municipal level.
On an area of over 60 hectares, a total of 91,812 bifacial solar modules were built that capture solar radiation from both sides — efficiently and trend-setting. With an output of 54,470 kWp, the plant generates a forecast annual volume of around 59.75 million kWh — enough to supply around 21,000 two-person households with clean electricity.
Fuchsstadt shows what a real energy revolution looks like — regionally rooted, jointly supported and technologically up to date.
The impressive infrastructure includes 552 kilometers of installed DC cables — further proof of the technical dimension of this major project. The participation of the municipality is particularly noteworthy: Fuchsstadt holds 30% of the shares in the operating company — a clear sign of active municipal participation and long-term participation in the economic success of the project. This ensures sustainable local added value. Another highlight is the adjacent satellite system, which is not only powered directly by electricity from the solar park, but also acts as an efficient data transmitter — a smart combination of renewable energy and digital infrastructure.
