From idea to clean energy — step by step together

Each of our projects starts with a simple question: Where does wind energy really fit in well? With extensive experience and cutting-edge technology, we identify suitable areas — always with an eye on the environment, technology and region.

Once a suitable location has been found, our land acquirers go into personal contact with the owners. With fairness and sensitivity, we create the basis for a sustainable project together. Our planning is not only technically sound, but also open and transparent — because we are convinced that good projects need the support of the region.

As soon as the area is secured, we start detailed planning: environmental reports, permits, park layout — everything is prepared with care and in harmony with people and nature. At the same time, we ensure stable financing and also involve local partners and citizens.

When construction starts, we ensure that everything runs smoothly — well coordinated, solution-oriented and in constant dialogue with all parties involved. And when the systems are connected to the grid, green energy flows: cleanly, quietly and efficiently.

We'll stay on board even after that. Our operational management ensures that every plant runs optimally — both technically and economically. And when a wind turbine has had its day at some point, we take care of dismantling it responsibly or check the potential for modern repowering.

Because for us, every project is more than just a construction project — it is a promise for the future. With commitment, experience and heart, we are committed to sustainable energy supply. From start to future.

Location analysis - scouting

The basis for every good project - Before a wind turbine can be built, everything starts with the search for the right location. Using cutting-edge geoinformation systems and well-founded analyses, our scouting team identifies potential areas for new wind projects. In doing so, we take into account not only technical and legal frameworks, but also ecological aspects. In this way, we create the basis for sustainable projects — forward-looking, responsible and future-oriented.

Project development & approval

As soon as the area is secured, detailed planning begins: environmental reports, park layout, network connection, nature and species protection, expert reports and approval processes — everything precisely coordinated so that an idea becomes an approved project — in harmony with people and nature.

Financing & Involvement

Our finance department provides sustainable financing: We develop models, prepare bank documents, secure loans, meet payout conditions and rely on SPVs. This is how we create stable structures for successful projects — with responsibility and vision.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions

How do municipalities and land owners benefit from wind turbines?
Wind energy brings clear benefits to the region: As an owner, you receive regular, contractually regulated lease payments — reliably over the entire term. The municipality also benefits: Thanks to business tax, significant parts of the added value remain local. In addition, regional jobs are being created — and last but not least, the opportunity to actively participate in the energy transition. Prowind attaches great importance to fair participation models and long-term dialogue with all parties involved.
How long does it take to plan and approve a wind energy project?
A wind farm is not an overnight project. It usually takes between three and seven years from the first area inspection to commissioning. During this time, extensive reports are prepared, discussions are held with authorities and municipalities, and numerous approval steps are carried out. Prowind takes care of the entire project development — as a space owner, you will be continuously informed without having to worry about the details yourself.
What effects does a wind farm have on the environment and wildlife?
Each project examines in detail how the planned plant affects the environment. As part of the environmental impact assessment, effects on birds, bats, the landscape, soil, water and humans are considered, among other things. Where necessary, we implement targeted protective measures — for example shutdowns during bat flight times or landscape-adapted planning. Our goal is to keep the intervention as low as possible and at the same time make an important contribution to climate protection. Because the biggest environmental impact remains unchecked climate change — which we actively counteract with renewable energy.
What is the power yield of a wind turbine?
This depends heavily on the location, wind frequency and the type of turbine used. Modern wind turbines in good inland locations can generate between 10 and 20 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually. Depending on consumption, this allows up to 5,000 households to be supplied with clean electricity per year. Offshore plants or very windy locations reach even higher values. Wind energy is therefore one of the most efficient renewable sources of energy.
What requirements must be met to build a wind farm?
For a wind farm to be built, many aspects must fit together: The wind conditions must be sufficiently strong and constant. The area must be suitable and available — ideally large, contiguous and as far away from residential development as possible. There are also legal and planning frameworks such as social distancing regulations, spatial planning plans and environmental requirements. Only when all these points are correct can concrete planning begin. Prowind takes care of the full audit and accompanies you through every step of the way as an owner — transparent, professionally experienced and with many years of experience.
How does a wind turbine actually work?
A wind turbine — or more specifically a wind turbine — uses the power of the wind to generate clean electricity. When the wind blows, it sets the turbine's large blades in motion. This rotational movement is transmitted via a transmission to a generator, which generates electrical energy from it. The energy generated is then brought to the appropriate voltage via a transformer and fed into the power grid. The whole thing happens quietly, efficiently and completely emission-free — a prime example of climate-friendly technology.
How does Prowind ensure nature and species protection during wind projects?
Prowind attaches great importance to protecting nature. When implementing wind energy projects, compensation areas are created and measures are implemented to protect nature and species in order to maintain the ecological balance
What role do citizen energy parks play at Prowind?
Citizen energy parks enable local communities to contribute financially to wind energy projects. Prowind promotes these participation models to increase local acceptance and benefits
How can I benefit from a wind energy project as a landowner?
Prowind offers land owners the opportunity to make their land available for wind energy projects. In doing so, they benefit from long-term rental income and actively contribute to the energy revolution.
Which areas are suitable for wind or solar energy?
Together, we analyse which municipal or private areas are suitable. In doing so, we pay attention to technical, ecological and legal frameworks — always in close coordination with you.
