Prowind GmbH is sending a clear signal for environmental and climate protection and is donating €10,000 to the non-profit Mission to Marsh gGmbH. With this financial support, Prowind is strengthening efforts to protect and restore peatlands – one of the most important natural CO₂ stores on our planet.
Mission to Marsh gGmbH aims to raise public awareness of the importance of peatlands and wetlands for the climate, water balance and biodiversity and to carry out concrete protection and rewetting projects. Peatlands demonstrably store more CO₂ per unit of area than forests and are indispensable for climate and species protection.
“We are delighted to make a concrete contribution to strengthening nature conservation with this donation,” says the management of Prowind GmbH. “Protecting and restoring peatlands are essential building blocks in the fight against climate change – and we want to support this important work.”
The donation will go to Mission to Marsh gGmbH projects that, among other things, restore peatland areas, carry out educational and awareness-raising measures and build long-term partnerships to promote peatland protection. Since its foundation in 2022, the Hanover-based non-profit organisation has been committed to the protection, restoration and appreciation of peatlands and wetlands. Through education, restoration projects and broad public outreach, the organisation aims to make an effective contribution to environmental and climate protection.
